Objective: Zero CO2
CEA is involved in the Zero CO2 project, which plans to send a sailing boat equipped with an auxiliary motor with no direct carbon dioxide emissionon a tour of the Mediterranean. The 12 metre sailing boat, built by the RM shipyards in La Rochelle, has been equipped with an electric motor that runs on a hydrogen fuel cell developed by CEA. Its voyage around the Mediterranean, scheduled for 2010, will take ten months.
