Making radiotherapy safer

OSEA has just approved funding to the tune of €4.1 million over four years for the INSPIRA project, which seeks to develop hardware and software products for safer radiotherapy processes and equipment. The project is managed by a consortium made up of three French companies, Dosisoft, Medasys and AS2I. A number of science laboratories and hospitals are also involved. INSPIRA is aimed at developing automatic independent solutions for checking treatment plans and finding out more about the effects of ionising radiation.
