Creation of the Nano-Innov Integration Centre

The objective of the Nanotechs plan, Nano-InnoV, presented on May 5th last year by the Minister for Higher Education and Research, is to provide French industry with the resources required for success in the move towards nanotechnology. Among the measures announced was the creation of nanotechnology integration centres. One is on the campus at Saclay, which is operated by the CEA, and there are others at Grenoble and Toulouse. These will offer a structure which combines fundamental research, technological research and businesses and this will enable filing of patents, development of new technologies and creation of innovative products. As a genuine hub for innovation and commercialisation of nanotechnologies, Nano-InnoV will ensure a continuum from fundamental research on nanotechnologies, through their integration into systems and eventual commercialisation. The Nano-InnoV steering committee is composed of three colleges (nanosciences, nanotechnologies and industry).
