CEA LETI - IBM

Collaboration on nano-electronics

The CEA LETI, IBM and the semiconductor Joint Development Alliance ecosystem centred in Albany, New York, sealed a 5-year, research partnership agreement on April 9th in the field of semiconductors and nano-electronics. The objective is to work on advanced materials, processes and components and to develop CMOS technology to produce microprocessors and integrated circuits at 22 nanometres and beyond. The CEA is contributing its expertise in low-power CMOS technology (SOI technology), e-beam lithography and characterisation on the nanometre scale. “In future, CMOS technologies can only be developed through global alliances. CEA/LETI chose to partner IBM, since this alliance directly benefits companies with a strong industrial activity based in Europe”, commented Laurent Malier, the director of CEA LETI.
