INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY

The CEA launches Avenium

CEAinvestissement, the new name for CEA Valorisation, works with industrial companies and academic research organisations to implement a competitive industrial property policy at the highest level of European and international practices. Through Avenium, its new subsidiary specializing in providing advice on strategy and industrial property management, CEA Investissement intends to continue this strategic development.
Its personnel, methodologies, tools and customer contracts, were transferred en masse to Avenium, on May 1st last year. Hence, Avenium now has a unit of 15 consultants with expertise in both industrial property and the market. Avenium offers services in two principle areas: firstly projects involving audit, analysis and evaluation of industrial property rights for application of patents, and secondly commercialisation projects for industrial property and assistance with technology transfer.
The creation of Avenium makes it possible for CEA Investissement to dedicate itself entirely to its core activity of financing spin-off companies from research. Four companies were financed in 2008 and five in the first quarter of 2009.
