NEUROSPIN

Understanding the workings of the human brain

The NeuroSpin neuroimaging research center is devoted to achieving a better understanding of how the human brain functions. This NMR neuroimaging platform conducts preclinical and clinical cerebral studies using high-field MRI techniques and complementary cerebral analysis techniques. Covering an area of 8,500 m2, the facility comprises superconducting magnets, high-capacity computers and image analysis laboratories. It will eventually allow us to study the human brain at a scale of 10,000 neurons. The objective is to push back the current limits of neuroimaging technology and develop tools and models with scientific and industrial partners so as to better understand the causes of psychiatric disorders such as depression and the nature of human communication, learning and emotional mechanisms. The NeuroSpin center is part of the Ile-de-France technical network and is open to partnerships. It provides small and medium-sized companies with assistance for protocol design, project preparation and data processing tasks.
