BIOPHARMACEUTICS

Screening proteins

The Biopharmaceutics platform is part of the Institute of Environmental Biology and Biotechnology (IBEB) at CEA Marcoule and develops physico-chemical technologies and tools used to characterize proteins.
Objectives: identify contaminants in a batch of therapeutic proteins, measure the dispersion of molecular weights of a protein in solution, analyse the secondary structure of the recombinant protein and measure the impact of a change of galenic form or of protein formulation. Studies conducted at the request of startups or industrial pharmaceutical groups often leads to a specific methodological development that may contribute towards the definition of production processes. These methods can also be transferred to pharmaceutical laboratories to implement a batch qualification procedure.
The partnership with Spi Bio, a service company devoted to pharmaceutical research and developing medicine, offers more expansive services to industry.
